ALEXANDER LARSEN
Consultant & Trainer
Alexander is a certified Fellow and trainer of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), where he is also Chair of the Energy SIG. He holds a degree in Risk Management from Glasgow Caledonian University and has considerable expertise in working with organizations to develop, enhance and embed their Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuity Management (BCM), Project Risk and Partnership Management processes.
He started his career with Marsh & Zurich in Europe, before joining DNV. Since leaving DNV he's spent more than 10 years in the Middle East, where he's worked for Lukoil, Saudi Aramco, and Qatar Foundation, as well as a variety of other roles within the energy, telecoms, construction, and utilities sectors.
In 2016, Alexander was named “Risk Manager of the Year” for Middle East & Africa at the Strategic Risk and Global Reinsurance magazines awards, where he also won best “Risk Management Communication” plan. Alexander is seen as a thought leader within the risk management profession and is a regular speaker at conferences across the Middle East and Asia. He has also contributed to a number of books.

SARAH SHERRY
Consultant & Trainer
Sarah is a Senior Lecturer in Operations and Decision Technologies, at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
Sarah's professional interests include spreadsheet modeling and best practices in this area, spreadsheet optimization, Monte Carlo simulation, quantitative risk management practices, decision comparison, and efficient, effective communication of findings to management. Strong interest in pedagogy, course development, and assessment methods.
She delivers intensive, hands-on training seminars on the subject of spreadsheet modeling and risk and decision analysis in diverse domains, and collaborates with domain experts to develop spreadsheet models and analyses to assist in the evaluation of policies, both existing and proposed, and to guide decision making.

RAFAEL HARTKE
Consultant & Trainer
Rafael is a specialist in risk modelling, project valuation and analytics across a wide range of industries, although his background is from the oil & gas industry, with Petrobras. Rafael previously worked as a senior trainer & consultant at Palisade, the makers of the @RISK software, and has delivered consulting and training in more than 25 countries, in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
He has expertise in the areas of risk management and quantitative risk analysis, valuations, cash flow, CFaR, the pricing of derivatives and options, building forecast models with regression, time series, neural networks and machine learning, Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic optimization, and decision trees.
He holds an MBA in Finance, Investment and Risk, an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, and is a Certified ERP (Energy Risk Professional, by GARP).

PETER VANNECK
Consultant & Trainer
Peter is a risk analyst and decision support expert who performs and assists with financial feasibility studies, investment analysis, cost estimations, business analytics, spreadsheet modeling, project risk management, cost and schedule risk evaluations, Monte Carlo simulation and real option valuations.
Peter has a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering. He also obtained an additional Master's Degree in Real Estate Management.
Peter teaches as an Executive Professor at the Antwerp Management School. He is certified by the RICS, is a member of the Society of Decision Professionals, member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and certified as a PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) and he is also a member of the Real Estate Society in Belgium.

QUINTON VAN EEDEN
Consultant & Trainer
Quinton is a decision and risk analyst with close on 30 years’ experience in risk and general management.
He is a lawyer by training and holds advanced level professional certifications in project- and project risk management as well as a Master’s degree in Information and Knowledge Management. He is currently reading for a PhD in Capital Programme Risk Management.
He specialises in the application of quantitative modelling and analysis techniques to determine the effect of uncertainty on enterprise and project objectives, options/alternatives analysis and stochastic modelling of capital asset investment decision variables.
At an enterprise and project portfolio level, he has been responsible for the development of ISO-based enterprise risk management-, business continuity- and risk financing frameworks for organisations in various locales internationally in addition to his involvement in megaprojects such as the infrastructure/stadium build programme for the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar and the development of Objectives-Based ERM frameworks for the National Oil & Gas Authority of Bahrain, and the Kuwait National Petroleum Company.

FERNANDO HERNANDEZ
Consultant & Trainer
Fernando specialises in the training, consulting, developing and communicating of quantitative risk, financial applications and decision-making models.
He is an expert on Monte Carlo simulation, advanced Excel modelling, statistical analysis and forecasting, artificial intelligence, optimization algorithms, financial modelling, project evaluation, database architecture, risk registers, and the quantification of financial risks.
Fernando has delivered more than 430 trainings, workshops and conferences, in three languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese), delivering close to 10,000 hours of consulting and training, on 37 countries and 78 cities for the past 17 years.
Fernando hold a degree in Finance Administration, and as a Fulbright scholar, he completed his MBA at Indiana University, majoring in Finance & Management Information Systems

JAVIER ORDONEZ
Consultant & Trainer
Javier holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Cuenca and a M.S. in Project Management – Operations Research from the University of Maryland. Javier earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland performing research on risk analysis integrating Monte Carlo simulation and Bayesian belief networks. He also has a graduate diploma on Financial Risk Management from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico.
He possesses 20 years of experience in the use of quantitative analytics applied to project management, optimal project and capital investments selection, risk analysis and operations research applications in a variety of industries with focus on large infrastructure projects and project finance.
Javier was the former Director of Custom Solutions and Senior Consultant for Palisade Corporation, maker of the @RISK software.
Dr. Ordóñez is a visiting professor at Universidad San Francisco de Quito and ESPOL.
